Cold Weather — Product Ordering

As cold weather is on the way, we wanted to provide some guidance regarding ordering and shipping of cold-sensitive products, which may freeze during transit.

When temperature is a concern, we recommend placing orders on Monday to keep products moving in transit, and minimize the chance of a shipment sitting in a warehouse or shipping hub over weekends or holidays. Note also that you can split an order into two if you wish to use an expedited shipping method for the cold-sensitive products.

Please see below for details on how freezing affects different products, should any product you order arrive frozen. It is important to note that protein levels are not affected by freezing and defrosting these products, nor is shelf life. With the exception of Konjac Noodles, all of these products are safe for consumption.

  • Ready-to-Serve Shakes: Defrost at room temperature. Products should be fully defrosted and shaken well before consuming. A slightly different color may result in freezing and defrosting.
  • Ready-to-Serve Chocolate Pudding: Products should be fully defrosted. A slightly different color may result in freezing and defrosting.
  • Dressings and Collagen: There is no impact on nutritional make-up of these products when frozen and defrosted.
  • Chocolate Coated Bars: These bars may also be set at room temperature for at least 24 hours to ensure they are soft enough to bite into. Small white specs may be present on the chocolate, which is called “blooming” and is a result of the changes in the crystals when cocoa butter melts and resolidifies. Temperature/moisture changes can leave white marks on the surfaces of the chocolate. This is normal for chocolate coated products.
  • Konjac Noodles: This product should not be consumed if it has been frozen.
